Missions Opportunity

This year’s VBS Missions Project partner is a ministry that truly gets the Gospel across The Finish Line! Union Gospel Mission’s Center of Hope (COH) is a shelter and discipleship program site where single women with children find hope and the support needed to take the first steps toward getting their families back on their feet, their children back in school, and emotional and spiritual healing. Women and children at COH learn about Jesus and the difference only He can make in their individual lives and in the lives of their families. This is where hope begins!

PCPC has been specifically asked to support COH by gathering DISD school uniforms for the children at the shelter. VBS 2024 Missions Project items to support the children at COH can be found on this special Center of Hope Amazon Wishlist. Uniforms can also be purchased from Walmart, Target, Old Navy, etc… following these DISD Uniform Guidelines. (Note DISD’s generic colors: Bottoms: Black, navy, or khaki and Tops: White) Purchased items can be delivered during VBS week/events or shipped directly to PCPC Attn: VBS Missions.

These uniforms will be brought to COH as part of PCPC’s Mission Dallas event and distributed at a large back to school kickoff party and throughout the year when new children enter the shelter.

Your support in providing uniforms will greatly bless the precious children at COH. Just as athletes must have the proper uniform for their country, kids must also be properly dressed for school! Please prayerfully consider how your family can help with this wonderful opportunity to assist Union Gospel Mission’s Center of Hope!

  • Children of Registered Adult Volunteers (3 mos. – rising 4th graders)†
  • Youth of Registered Adult Volunteers (rising 5th - rising 8th graders)†√

April 8
General Registration* –
Estimated registration opening for children and/or youth of non-volunteering adults. Please note that this will only open if programming ratios can safely be met for VBS 2024.

All registrations are on a first-come, first-serve basis, and waitlists may be put in place at any point. Please understand that we must have a sufficient number of volunteers in place before allowing more participants into the program. If you cannot fully commit to serving onsite the entire week of VBS, we kindly ask that you please wait for general registration to enroll your children.

All Adult Volunteers must have fully completed PCPC’s Safety System, which includes Awareness Training (with a quiz), a cleared Criminal Background Check, and a fully executed and approved Volunteer Application form before serving at VBS.

It is our hope and prayer that you understand these special circumstances and that you kindly honor the roll-out registration groupings as set forth above. If you have any questions about the registration process, please contact Heather Squibb at heather.squibb@pcpc.org.

“…let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross….” – Hebrews 12:1-2
