Overview

We believe the Bible calls all Christians to be engaged in the work of ministry, each according to the gifts, calling, and circumstances God has given them. For some, the work of ministry is a full-time calling that requires specialized training and personal development. God has been gracious to establish educational institutions like Reformed Theological Seminary (Dallas) to help meet that need, but the church still has a vital role to play in preparing men and women for the work of ministry.

At Park Cities Presbyterian Church, we have developed a Seminary Internship Program to help equip current seminary students for ministry. The Seminary Internship Program provides these students with practical ministry experience, oversight, and training so that we can “entrust to faithful men” the message of the gospel and the values of our church (2 Timothy 2:2). While our primary focus is on male students who are preparing for ordination as pastors in the PCA, we also welcome male and female students who are preparing to serve in non-ordained ministry.

Activities

The activities which form the Seminary Internship Program all center around the need for students to engage in real-life, practical ministry in a local church, while also developing their heart and skill for ministry. The Seminary Internship Program is divided into three main areas: practical ministry experiences, oversight, and training. Compensation

Students who participate in the Seminary Internship Program participate in the life and ministry of PCPC as church members and ministry volunteers, not paid staff.

Involvement

To be a Seminary Intern, you must be a current seminary student and a Member of Park Cities Presbyterian Church. If you meet those criteria and would like to apply, please complete the Seminary Internship Application.
