In a king We Trust (8:00 a.m.)
1 Samuel 8:1-22
Once again the people of Israel turn away from God. In the face of an aging leader and his unfit sons, they turn away from their true King asking for an earthly king to lead and protect them. Why won’t they remember his faithfulness and trust Him again and again? Perhaps the best way to answer this question is to look in the mirror asking the Holy Spirit to help us see our own passion for substitute kings. Why do we struggle to fully trust our King, Jesus? In His mercy we can see the answer and turn again to our reigning King, seeking to trust Him again and again.
