About the Episode:
Join us for a series on addiction to alcohol and other drugs, where we will discuss the loss of choice and the shame-based disease that is addiction. Ryan Rodriguez, LPC, shares her story, struggle, and victory over alcoholism. As a person who has been in the eye of the storm, she walks through both the neuroscience of addiction and practicing the presence of God to find healing for herself and be a resource for others.
About Our Guest:
Ryan Sadkin Rodriguez is a Licensed Professional Counselor who grew up in the Park Cities. Ryan has bachelor’s degrees in sociology and government from The University of Texas at Austin, a juris doctor from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, and a master’s degree in mental health counseling from Northwestern University.
Ryan has experience working with adolescents and adults in the treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma, codependency, and substance abuse. Her holistic approach focuses on cognitive, emotional, social, physical, and spiritual health as equally important parts of a single system. Ryan believes that any constellation of difficult experiences and circumstances can be transformed into a joyful, meaningful life.
About Our Host:
A graduate of Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Mark Davis came to PCPC as our Youth Pastor in 2003 and became our Senior Pastor in 2009. He and his bride, Kristina, met at a Young Life Camp in 1988 and have five amazing kids, Kara (and husband, Drew), Madalyn (and husband, Jack), Cayden, Esther Kate, & Samuel.
