An Evening of Poetry, Jazz, and Compline

Join Malcolm Guite and the Brian Piper Trio for poetry and jazz in Fellowship Hall on May 19 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. The evening continues with a service of Compline at 7:15 p.m. The ancient service of Compline marks the end of day with singing, prayer, and psalms.

A dessert reception will follow in the Grand Hall after the service of Compline.

Congregational Meeting for the Election of Officers and Pastor Emeritus

The Session of PCPC has approved a Congregational Meeting, on Sunday, June 2, during the 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. worship services, for the purpose of electing Bill Lamberth as Pastor Emeritus of PCPC and electing new deacons and Class of 2028 elders. The ordination and installation of the elected officers will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2024, during the 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. worship services. Congregational Meeting for the Election of Officers and Pastor Emeritus

Officer Recommendations

The Session has approved the dates May 5-June 2 for members to submit recommendations for the offices of deacon and elder, Class of 2029. A screening committee composed of elders, deacons, and laity will interview all men who are recommended and consider their qualifications before submitting a list of potential officer candidates to the Session for approval. The men approved by the Session will undergo training in classes on the Bible, The Westminster Confession of Faith, The Book of Church Order, and officer-specific books, and stand for election by the congregation in 2025.

VBS 2024

This year’s Olympic-themed VBS is titled “The Finish Line” and is based on Hebrews 12:1-2 “…let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross…” VBS will run from June 4–7 from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. at PCPC.

Together - Living Life as the Body of Christ

Men and women, join in for this 6-week study on what it means to live life together with our Heavenly Father and how that impacts how we live life together with each other. Pat Hobin will be focusing on various Scripture passages, seeking to bring to light the intended blessing that others can be to us, and how we can be a blessing to others as we live life together.

Summer Book Study for Women

Come and be a part of this 6-week book discussion group that introduces 8 ways to cultivate meaningful relationships as we care for one another as the Body of Christ. (No reading required ahead of time by participants). This group meets on Wednesdays beginning June 12 and is led by Kristen Hatton and Kari Stainback. The cost is $10 for the book and class.
