Holy Week

Through the Eyes of Hope

The story of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ is not a myth, a folktale, or a work of fiction. It is history. In fact, it is the turning point of all of history. And in the Bible, the Gospels record the eyewitness accounts of those who were there.

What must it have been like to witness Jesus at the triumphal entry? To have been with Jesus in the upper room on the night He was betrayed? To have heard the crowds call out for his crucifixion? To have seen the sky turn black when Jesus was nailed to the cross? What must it have been like to have seen Jesus risen from the dead?

This Holy Week, we will fix our eyes on Jesus through the eyes of those who were with Him. And as we begin with Palm Sunday, we will see Jesus through the prophetic eyes of Zechariah, who set His hope on the coming Messiah 500 years before He entered Jerusalem on a donkey to lay down His life for our salvation.

Invite friends and family to worship in-person with us at 8:00, 9:30 or 11:00 a.m. or online at pcpc.org/live/, the PCPC App with an iOS or Android device, Facebook, or YouTube.

Holy Week

Participate in the Lord's passion and celebrate His resurrection with us! We will gather each day at PCPC, and our theme, “Through the Eyes of …” will examine passages in Matthew, John, and Zechariah from the viewpoints of various people involved, culminating with “Through the Kingdom Eyes of Jesus” Himself. Invite your neighbors and family to be a part of this powerful week.

Schedule

Easter Sunday

Three identical services will be in the Sanctuary on Easter Sunday. Would you consider attending the 8:00 or 11:00 a.m. service to make room for guests at the 9:30 a.m. service? We encourage families, even the little ones, to worship together at 8:00 a.m. We will have Nursery and Preschool (ages 3-Kindergarten) at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. only. Elementary (grades 1-5), Middle, and High School groups will not meet.

Parking

For Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday, parking is also available in the Equinox Garage at 4222 Avondale Ave. There should be plenty of spots in that garage and a quick exit after church ends, with only a few extra steps required. Please do not park in Equinox surface-level lots nor their main garage. We will have officers, volunteers, and signs assisting each step of the way.

Childcare

Childcare for Noonday Services and Maundy Thursday is available by registration. Childcare registration is now open and closes on March 27 at 12:00 p.m. Lunch is available after each Noonday Service ($13.00).

Flower Cross

We invite all children to bring a flower to place in the large cross out in the Courtyard on Easter Sunday. This is a longstanding tradition that our PCPC family has enjoyed for years. It’s such a beautiful reminder that He is Risen!

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!
Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your King is coming to you;
righteous and having salvation is He,
humble and mounted on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
